Mindfulness is a Lifestyle - Here's How to Live It Lusciously
Myths of Mindfulness
“I mostly don't understand mindfulness teachings. I thought going outside and appreciating my surroundings was how to do mindfulness!”
~
❌ Mindfulness is Meditation
If you sit your tush-to-the-cush and clear your mind of all thoughts for 30-minutes a day, you will achieve enlightenment and all your problems will float away like the clouds of your thoughts. The truth is, a 30-minute meditation practice is not sustainable, practical, or realistic for the average human in today’s society.❌ Mindfulness is a Complicated Practice
There are a zillion different practices to “do mindfulness” such as breathwork, time in nature, yoga, meditation, positive affirmations, and more. But each one, in and of itself requires years and years of deep practice to get to any level of mastery. Again, this kind of approach to mindfulness is not realistic in today’s short-term-attention-span society.❌ Mindfulness is a Change in Mindset
Change your mind to change your life.If you are “doing” mindfulness right, it’s all about changing your mind and your perspective. While this is part-true, it’s not all-true. Your mind is deeply integrated with your body and nervous system. To change your mind requires a body-action practice so that you actually FEEL and EMBODY the shifts.
How to Live Life Lusciously
“I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.”
~Henry David Thoreau
While Henry David Thoreau tucked himself away in a tiny cabin in the woods to live a mindful life of watching ants and writing about them, that’s not really what mindfulness is about about today.
Mindfulness is a Lifestyle
The way to live a luscious life of sucking the marrow out of every experience is to do just that, be mindful and slurp JOY in absolutely every thing you see, smell, taste, touch and do. It is an ACTIVE practice of working with your mind, your body, and your moods.
To live mindfully is to make the conscious choice and intentional decision to dig deep into every moment of life and truly savor it.
This isn’t accomplished on a meditation cushion, or a yoga mat, or even while forest bathing. This is accomplished in the tiny moments of every day life. Brushing your teeth. Hugging your child. Petting your dog. Answering your emails. Checking your phone. Cooking your meals.
This isn’t achieved by attending getaway retreats and specialty workshops and intensive seminars. It is achieved by LIVING! and LIVING with passion!
Finally, a Mindfully Luscious Life isn’t something that is complicated and difficult to reach. It just takes commitment and consistency. Do little things, tiny little things, many many many times a day, to change your nervous system and your will find yourself living in wonderment at everything around you, over time, and time, and time, and time again.
This mini-course offers you insight into how to do this, in teeny tiny easy-peasy ways, based on some of the deepest wisdoms of spiritual teachers of all traditions. The hard part isn’t the practice, the hard part is the commitment and the consistency.
If you work it, it works.
