As Above, So Below
Your Root Chakra & Audacity
A tree with wide and deep roots is an excellent symbol for how your own body works in terms of support and growth.
The more rooted and grounded you are, the more you grow and reach your branches tall and wide.
If you want to be BOLD and AUDACIOUS to reach new heights in your life, you must first be grounded and secure.
Thus, a vital early step to taking a bold new action in your life is to get yourself feeling safe and stable, as best you can.
Your Root Chakra
The Root Chakra is a bundle of nerves that lives at the base of your spine and governs all the messages sent down your legs and feet.
As your legs and feet are the body parts that provide you support and stability and connection to Earth, the nerves that run through your legs and feet carry messages and memories of how you feel supported, stabilized, and safe in your life.
If those messages running through your legs and feet are stories of anxiety and fears, your body tends to get jitters (like anxiety) and not feel grounded.
One of the best and easiest ways to instantly change the messaging running through your root chakra from fear/anxiety to safe/stable is to ground your feet. love your feet. stabilize your feet.
The common theme here is FEET.
Your feet (padas) are the unsung heroes of your body. You depend on them every day, and rarely take time to fully appreciate them.
They provide you support and stability for what you are facing right now.
They help you step and launch into new directions in life.
In terms of AUDACITY, they help you to feel safe and stable enough to have the oomph and motivation and drive to take steps into new directions.
The more your root your feet into the soil of Mother Earth, the more safe and stable you will feel, giving you the ability to reach higher, grow higher, and be more bold.
📝 Note - most energy healers and spiritual teachers will offer the advice of walking barefoot and teach you various methods of grounding by planting your feet and visualizing roots down into earth. I’m assuming you already know these tips and tricks…which are awesome and useful and highly effective.
The mindfulness trick I offer below is more practical that has a different lasting result. If you do it a minimum of 3x a day every single day, and you do it with deep breathing and mindful intention, it works on the neurological brain-training level to make grounding a natural habit for you. It also works on the reflexology level to soothe the nerves throughout your whole body, and thus has a much more holistic effect than typical grounding techniques.

Practice
If you take just a moment every day to appreciate your feet for this work they do, rub them as you affirm them for keeping you safe, stable, and stepping into new places...they will respond to the positive feedback and help you be even more BOLD in stepping into new directions in your life.
Try this little mindfulness trick of rubbing your feet for just a few seconds every time you put on your shoes. Thank them for keeping you safe and ask them to help you STEP forward in life.
Resources
I have found the following articles by other Substack writers to be very useful. I hope you check them out.
“. . . home [yoga] practice doesn’t have to be a goal-oriented or rigid or achievement-based pursuit. Instead, it can be a respite, a refuge, and a haven from the intensity of the daily grind.”
I totally believe that taking 2-minutes to mindfully rub your feet with breath when you take off your shoes is a form of home yoga practice. It is, as Ferretti says, “a haven from the intensity of the daily grind.”
Chakra Discovery by Clare Moon
“By examining your personal chakra system, you learn to identify, untangle and release issues & behaviors that feel stuck. This clearing brings heightened awareness, self-direction, self-responsibility and self-actualization.”
It is SOOO EASY to become obsessed by the chakras. Once you realize how they infiltrate every aspect of life and existence, self-awareness (and analysis) is inevitable. This substack is one woman’s venture into that amazing obsession.
Comment
Let me know how this works for you.
Make note right now, on a scale of 1-10 (one being not at all and 10 being totally)…how bold and confident do you feel about taking steps in new directions? How audacious do you feel?
Do this foot-rubbing mindfulness exercise every day 3x a day for a week.
At the end of a week, ask yourself again, on a scale of 1-10, how audacious are you?
Leave a note in the comments about how it worked for you.
